Welcome to ICOC XII in Stockholm, Sweden
|
Mark your calendars now! The 12th ICOC will be held in beautiful Stockholm from June 16-19, 2011. An art-filled pre-conference tour takes you to Copenhagen, Denmark. And a post-conference tour to St. Petersburg, Russia, will cap off your unforgettable ICOC experience. June is an excellent time to visit these wonderful cities with their rivers, canals, cultural sites and architecture.
The conference in Stockholm, June 16-19, is the ideal destination and the perfect season to enjoy educational lectures from international experts, a robust International Dealers’ Fair and several exhibitions of rugs and textiles from private collections. A special exhibition of rare Turkmen carpets and trappings is being organised. The hotels that we recommend are situated very close to the central train station and are within easy reach of the conference and exhibition centre.
Your evenings will be filled with receptions and visits to exhibitions at several museums and at the Royal Palace. Feast your eyes on the world famous ‘Marby’ rug, as well as 17th century Transylvanian rugs, glorious "Polonaise" carpets, colourful 18th century Swedish folk art textiles, and the widely published Safavid silk velvet coat that belonged to Queen Christina. And this is just a sampling!

Intresset för utställningarna som ICOC XII Stockholm 2011 arrangerar har varit så stort, och det är många som vill se dessa, så vi i den lokala kommittéen har beslutat att det skall göras dagkort till fredagen den 17 och lördag den 18 juni. Ett dagkort kostar 350kr och då ingår både de privatinlånade föremålsutställningarna och matthandlarmässan. Föreläsningar, konferensdeltagarkassar och kvällsmottagningar ingår ej. Platsen är: Stockholmsmässan i Älvsjö, kl. 09.00-17.30. Dagkortet köps på plats, därefter måste var och en trycka ut en fotonamnskylt.

The interest for the exhibitions that ICOC XII Stockholm 2011 arranges have been so big, and there are many people that want to see them, so we in the Local Committee have decided to make a day pass for the Friday the 17th and Satuday the 18th of June. A day pass costs 350SEK and for that sum you can see the private loan exhibitions as well as the Dealers’ Fair. The lectures, the conference participants bags and the evening receptions are not included. The location is: the Stockholm International Fairs, Älvsjö, from 9 am to 5.30 pm. The day pass can only be bought at the Fair, thereafter everyone must print out a photo and name badge themselves.
